I know that they both work, but I don’t want to buy both to figure it out myself. Can anyone help me?

The fog machine since you have better control over the fog production.

Dry ice produces a “fog” that is heavier than air, and stays low to the ground, so, unless you want the “fog” falling from the sky, the only foggy effects will be on the ground. The good thing about this is that anyone walking through this will have no trouble breathing, or seeing each other.

The other disadvantage of dry ice is that you can’t, really, turn it off.

A fog machine can be turned on and off and the density of the fog can be controlled.
